At the time of Kung fu tse there lived in the Middle Empire a wonderful wise man called Lao tse.

Kung fu tse, the great teacher of the laws of the happy life, heard of him and set off to visit him. Having returned from this visit, Kung fu tse went around for three days without saying a word, so that his pupils were astounded.
